Organise controls in the policy structure when their current location no longer matches how the policy is read or managed. Moving an existing control keeps the work attached to that record together.

Prepare the move

Open the control's policy and select an editable version. Save or discard pending record and attribute changes before reorganising the tree. Expand the destination category or subcategory so you can identify the intended position.

Reposition the control

Use the tree's drag handle to place the control within a supported parent or before or after a sibling. The destination must respect the policy hierarchy. Unsupported depth or element combinations are rejected.

A structure move saves immediately. Check the resulting parent and order after the operation finishes; a failed move restores the previous tree and reports the error. There is no later Save changes step for the move itself.

The tree supports organisation within the open policy. Do not treat it as a transfer between unrelated policies or versions. If a control should appear in a different policy, first decide how its ownership, framework relationships and history should be handled.
