Keep a policy's content, responsibilities and supporting control work aligned as the organisation changes. Open it from the policy register and confirm that you are working on the intended version.
Edit and save
Choose Edit details in the selected element or Edit policy from the policy actions. Update the display code, name or description and choose Save changes.
Edits can remain pending when an editor is closed or cancelled. Use the page save bar to save or Discard them. Resolve pending changes before switching policy, element or version.
Only an authorised editable draft permits ordinary content changes. An approved, in-review or historical version is read-only for that work; create or open the appropriate draft when further changes are needed.
Organise and assign
Use Add element to build the policy hierarchy. Review the selected parent and supported element type. Reorganisation preserves a maintained structure without requiring every item to be recreated; check destination and pending-save feedback for each move.
Assign owners and review schedules through their own controls. Review who is accountable for the policy as a whole and who operates its individual controls.
Keep supporting work current
Use maturity and completion assessments to explain progress and the evidence behind it. Policy statistics aggregate underlying controls; read those controls when investigating a gap.
Add evidence and internal comments through the resource panel when your confidential-details access allows it. Review incoming framework changes and mappings as the reference material evolves.
Share links and workflow actions save independently from the content draft. Discarding text edits does not revoke a link or reverse an approval or completed resource action.
Remove only the intended scope
Deleting a child element affects that element and its contained items. Requesting deletion of the policy affects the wider versioned policy. Read the specific confirmation and retention implications before proceeding.
