Categories organise requirements inside a domain. Use them to make the reference's structure clear and to review related assessment work together.
Add or edit a category
Select the intended domain, choose Add element and select Category. Check Inside and the proposed position, then enter the display code, name and description and choose Add.
Open an existing category to edit its details. Its tracking ID remains fixed when the display code changes. Use the hierarchy controls to reorder or move it only where the resulting depth is valid. Review the proposed parent before saving the change.
Assess the category and its children
Record applicability and its rationale. Select Apply to child elements only when the same decision is justified for every affected requirement.
Set current and target maturity, with separate documentation and implementation axes when dual maturity is enabled. An unset score, a measured zero and an excluded target are different states. Use the displayed scale descriptions and keep the supporting rationale specific to this category.
Weighting uses the workspace scale. Assign owners and a review schedule with their separate controls. Review the underlying requirements before drawing conclusions from a parent-level assessment or average.
Inspect policy-control coverage
Control progression identifies policy controls linked to the category where policy linking is available. Review the content and scope of each link. Mark the link set complete only when it covers the required policy relationships, or mark links not required when that decision is justified.
Link-completion actions save separately from assessment text and scores. They do not mark controls operationally effective or change the category's applicability decision.
Save or remove
Use the requirement editor's Save or the page's Save changes to write pending edits. Closing an editor may retain the draft; Discard removes unsaved changes. Resolve the draft before selecting another element.
Deleting a category removes its contained requirements as described in the confirmation. Use a move when the category is still needed under another domain.
