Basic is one of the CyberFundamentals assurance levels published by the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium, alongside Important and Essential. Small is separate starting guidance. See the CyberFundamentals 2025 resources.
Use in a programme
Select the level through a reasoned assessment of the organisation's exposure and applicable assurance needs. Define the assessed scope, assign people to the measures and retain the evidence behind each score and exclusion.
Do not infer that Basic is sufficient solely from company size or from the ease of implementing an initial control set. Use the official assessment and assurance materials to establish the intended outcome.
Use in CSFaaS
The reviewed library offers CyFUN BASIC V2025 in English and French. Supported references provide CyFun actions → Summary, including documentation and implementation maturity, assessment completeness and scheme-specific checks.
Use the matching official workbook for import or export. An import preview identifies proposed changes; applying creates a new draft version. Review the summary and evidence before version approval. An application result does not itself issue a certificate.
